Music and Writing

Music

We are a “singing congregation”.  We have finally learned how to sing rounds, such as “Seek Ye First.”  We use a broad spectrum of familiar hymns, some spirituals, other  ecumenical songs such as “How Great Thou Art,” “Shall We Gather at the River,” as well as traditional service music from the Episcopal Hymnal.  Our preludial and communion music are chosen from selected CD’s played over a Hi-Fi system so that we can be exposed to well performed musical selections.  We use other instruments such as cello and flute, harp whenever they are available.  When new music is introduced, we have a brief congregational rehearsal before our worship begins.
